On Sunday, September 18th, Hampton Bays Chamber of Commerce will host the 18th annual Chili/Chowder Contest from 12 to 4 p.m. Once again, the friendly competition between East End eateries will be held at Boardy Barn in Hampton Bays.
“The 18th Annual Chili-Chowder Contest is an opportunity for some of our best local chefs to get in the ring and test out their tastiest recipes for a good cause,” shared Dot Capuano, President, Hampton Bays Chamber of Commerce. “The family-friendly event raises money for the Hampton Bays Chamber of Commerce who is dedicated to promoting our hamlet as a great place to live, shop, and visit.”
This year’s Chili competitors include 1 North Steakhouse, Rumba, Shuckers, Karamba, Steamfitters Union, and Bangstons General. As for Chowder, Cowfish, Shuckers, Sundays on the Bay, and 1 North Steakhouse will battle for top honors. After testing all the delicious options, attendees will cast a vote for their favorite and help crown a winner that will earn bragging rights for “a year of un-ending glory!”
“The Chamber is grateful to all the chefs who are donating their entries and to Tony Galgano and Mickey Shields for hosting us once again at the Boardy Barn,” added Capuano.
In addition to the Chili/Chowder throw down, the event will offer face painting, hot dogs, soda and beer, t-shirts, raffles and prizes, and 50/50 raffles.
Admission is $10 for adults and $3 for children.
