On Friday, February 5th, join The East End Mushroom Company for a complimentary tour of their state of the art Cutchogue facility. From 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., attendees can explore the grow room where the company harvests their signature shiitake, maitake, and oyster varieties, find out how the fungi progress to maturity, and gain knowledge about the world of indoor farming.

John Quigley, who founded the company along with Jane Maguire in 2012, will lead the tour and discussion. "We want to give people the opportunity to see how the mushrooms are grown, and what makes them standout among the rest," explained Quigley. "It's the future of farming, and it's exciting to share this with the community." Tourgoers will also learn about the other purveyed varieties that the family-owned and operated farm offers.

The East End Mushroom Company was established after Quigley and Maguire realized there was a need and demand for the farm on the East End. The duo created the company with the mission of growing mushrooms, specifically the Shiitake, Maitake, and Oyster varieties, which are picked on a daily basis to guarantee unrivaled freshness. Their locally grown mushrooms are purchased by both restaurateurs across New York and amateur chefs looking to feature the local bounty.

Since the evening includes a visit to the grow room, where attendees must wear a mask due to the live spores, the event is recommended for adults only. Reservations are required to take the tour.

Note: The February 5th tour is currently full, but The East End Mushroom Company will offer another tour on Friday, March 4th from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

The East End Mushroom Company is located at 22355 County Road 48 #23 in Cutchogue. For more information, call 631-876-5401 or visit www.theeastendmushroomcompany.com.
