Children clamoring for an excuse to get their hands on seasonal sweets will savor the opportunity to create a gingerbread work of art during a Hamptons workshop. While chances are it won't be as lavish as the life-size creations that were constructed by Ron Ben-Israel and Jonathan Scott, and Duff Goldman and Drew Scott during Food Network's "All-Star Gingerbread Build," the East End built versions will definitely taste just as yummy.

1. Montauk Library (871 Montauk Highway, Montauk, 631-668-3377, www.montauklibrary.org) is presenting a free Holiday Gingerbread Houses class on Saturday, December 12th at 2 p.m. Children will receive a gingerbread house kit with all the trimmings, and once their abode is built, they can adorn the house with icing, candy and their candy dreams. The Library is also hosting a complimentary Holiday Cookie Decorating class on Saturday, December 19th at 2 p.m., where attendees can make melted snowman cookies, reindeer cookies and a cookie of their own imagining. Registration is required for both.

2. Children's Museum of the East End (376 Bridgehampton-Sag Harbor Turnpike, Bridgehampton, 631-537-8250, www.cmee.org) is holding its annual Gingerbread House Decorating Workshops on Saturday, December 12th at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. The Museum will provide little ones with a pre-built gingerbread house that they can embellish with a variety of colorful and vivacious edible goodies. Admission is $20 for members and $30 for non-members. Registration is required.
