The rodeo is coming to the Hamptons this weekend, but not the typical Country, cowboy filled affair that you normally think of. From Thursday, July 9th through Sunday, July 12th, Fairgrounds at the Southampton Elks Club is being taken over by the Long Island Food Truck Rodeo. Attendees will enjoy dishes from local Artisan Food Vendors and Craft Vendors during “Picnic in the Hamptons.” The 1st annual Southampton foodie happening will feature food trucks from across the Island, who will bring the best of the best in mobile cuisine and catering.
Visitors are invited to bring a lawn chair or blanket and their appetite. Along with a delicious array of East End eateries, attendees will enjoy live entertainment, music from DJ Chef, DJ Shinne, DJ Lucienne, DJ Mike Cip, DJ Tony Kerr, 27 Dollar Band, and Noiz, local beer and wine, contests, raffles and door prizes.
If you’re wondering what exactly is a Food Truck Rodeo, it’s just a gathering of food trucks at a specific location. Some include special challenges between trucks, such as taco showdowns, but mainly, they give each participating truck the chance to display their signature flavors, while offering a diverse selection of food to rodeogoers.
General admission is $5 and a portion of the proceeds supports East End Hospice. Admission for children under 6-years-old is free. VIP Tickets are available for $20.
Long Island Food Truck Rodeo’s “Picnic in the Hamptons” will take place on Thursday, July 9th from 3 to 9 p.m., on Friday, July 10th from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., on Saturday, July 11th from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and on Sunday, July 12th from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. A Kickoff Party will be held on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m.
