Donna McCue, founder and president of "Fat Ass Fudge", has been selling her tasty treats at the farmers' market in Southampton for several years now. Just recently she had a run in with Golden Globe winner Hugh Jackman. McCue says a man with an Australian accent offered to help her put up her tent in the early morning. Being the independent woman she is, McCue declined the help, but the chivalrous Jackman insisted and only then did she realize who he was.
He continued to help carry her things from her car as well. After graciously helping McCue, Jackman joked, "I make $7.50 an hour," to which McCue sarcastically replied, "You're a famous movie star, I'll give you $15." McCue had nothing but nice things to say about the interaction with the very kind actor, who then went on to insist on buying some of the delicious "Fat Ass Fudge" products.
You can find "Fat Ass Fudge" as well as many other locally produced items at the Southampton and Sag Harbor Farmers' Markets. For more information visit www.fat-assfudge.com.
