Celebrating the holidays is a wonderful time to let someone else to the cooking. Just call any local restaurant and you'll be surprised at the menus and specials for take out these days. While you're taking a break between meals drop by Rowdy Hall for a few movie passes. Looking for a party? Pop by Turtle Crossing, La Fondita, or East Winds. And head over to the North Fork's Seafood Barge for a great wine and food pairing. Cheers!

Discounted Movie Tickets at Rowdy Hall

Rowdy Hall (10 Main St. in the Parrish Mews, East Hampton, [631] 324-8555) is now offering discounted movie tickets with your meal. Patrons of Rowdy Hall are entitled to a UA Cinema movie ticket at a cost of $7.50 a ticket with their meal (valid during both lunch and dinner). Rowdy Hall is open daily for lunch from 12 to 3:30 p.m. and for dinner Sunday through Thursday 5 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday 5 - 11 p.m. For further information call Rowdy Hall at (631) 324-8555.

Halloween Party at Turtle Crossing

Turtle Crossing (221 Pantigo Rd., East Hampton, 324-7166) will host a Halloween Costume Party on Friday, October 27th, featuring live music by Mama Lee & Friends beginning at 5:30 p.m. There will be free house margaritas and appetizers for anyone in costume. There will also be a best costume award with $100 going to the winner. The judging will begin at 8:30 p.m. Also of note this will be the last weekend for Turtle Crossing this season. La Fondita Celebrates the Day of the Dead

La Fondita (74 Montauk Hwy., Amagansett [631] 267-8800) will be celebrating the Day of the Dead on October 31, November 1 and November 2, 2006 with a special menu. La Fondita is now open Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday from 11:30 am to 8 p.m. and Friday and Saturday 11:30 am to 9 p.m. Daily specials are available and orders may be placed in advance by phone. Chef Matthew Prepares Exciting Thanksgiving Side Dishes at The Patio's October's Cooking Class

Chef Matthew Guiffrida of The Patio (54 Main St., Westhampton Beach, NY [631] 288-4878) offers a cooking class the third Wednesday of every month at 6:30 p.m., but this month's class will take place on the fourth Wednesday, October 25th. This class will focus on side dishes to excite the Thanksgiving dinner table. The dishes will include: chorizo sausage and cornbread stuffing; how to spice up boring bean casserole and sweet potato and corn succotash. The class costs is $25 per person and includes an open wine bar. Space is limited to 50 guests, so please call to make a reservation. The Fine Art of Freshness - Pairing Local Food With Local Wine

The Seafood Barge's (62980 Main Road, Southold, NY 11971, 631 765-3010) Chef Americo Mintegui will be hosting a wine and food pairing and tasting at the Charles B. Wang Center at Stony Brook University on Thursday November 16, 2006 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Chef Americo will be demonstrating how to create dishes using local ingredients and local wines. He will be pairing different dishes with wines from Lieb Cellers. The cost is $55 for the first person and $100 for two. Reservations are required and space is limited so call for reservations soon! Fresno Hosts Wine Dinner Features The Wines of Spain

Fresno (8 Fresno Place, East Hampton, NY [631] 324 8700) will host a wine dinner in conjunction with Domaine Wines of Pantigo Place in East Hampton on Sunday October 29. At 6pm, the Spanish themed menu paired with wines from Spain will begin with tapas and be followed by a 5-course dinner, prepared by Fresno chef Gretchen Menser. East Wind Stages a Big Band Swing Dance

East Wind (5720 Route 25A,Wading River, NY 11792 [631] 929 3500 or www.theinnateastwind.com) presents a big band swing dance on Thursday, November 9 from 7 p.m. until 11 p.m. A four-course buffet dinner will be served for $39.95 per person plus tax and gratuity accompanied by a cash bar. The Trevor Davison 10-piece swing band featuring Allyson will perform an array of tunes alongside swing, ballroom, Latin, 50s, Motown and disco dance music. Once the band concludes, a live DJ will hit the stage for continuous dancing. Alfonso from the Touch of Dance television show will also perform a demonstration.
