Artist Frank Borth III, Of Montauk, Dies At 91

- Frank Borth III, of Montauk, passed away in Newville, PA on Sunday, Aug. 9. He was 91-years-old.
Born in Cleveland, OH in April 1918 to parents Frank and Mabel, Borth graduated from the Cleveland Institute of Art, and worked for years as a self-employed commercial artist. He was also a U.S. Army veteran, a member of the Montauk Community Church, a member of the Montauk Fire Department, a former East Hampton Town Councilman, a member of the Community Theater Company and a former Montauk St. Patrick's Day Parade Grand Marshal.
Borth is predeceased by his parents and his wife, Barbara, who he married in 1944. He is survived by his son, Steven Borth, of Dedham, MA, his daughter, Katherine Kromer, of Onancock, VA, and one grandson, Michael Kromer, of East Hampton, as well as three nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangements were made by the Yardley and Pino Funeral Home in East Hampton. Services will be held on Thursday, Aug. 13 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. A funeral will be held on Friday, Aug. 14 at 11 a.m. at the Montauk Communtiy Church. Floral donations can be sent to the Montauk Community Church.
