Southampton - The 2011 elections in Suffolk County held few surprises or upsets, with many favored candidates returning for additional terms.

Below are results according to the Suffolk County Board of Elections:

Democrat Steve Bellone defeated Republican Angie Carpenter

 • Ed Romaine (District 1)

 • Jay Schneiderman (District 2)

 • Town Supervisor: Anna Throne-Holst defeated Write-in candidate Linda Kabot

Kabot issued the following statement:

"It has been an honor and privilege to be a candidate in this year's election as a Write-In to provide voters with a choice. Thank you to all of the voters from all walks of life, from across the political spectrum, who came out to send a message and cast their Write-In ballot for me for Southampton Town Supervisor! It's not an election without a challenger. I am proud of all the grass-roots campaign efforts and the
percentage points I garnered - without even having my name listed on the official ballot line-up, meanwhile my opponent was in the running with three party lines. For me, this race was all about integrity and demonstrating a tireless and true commitment to public service. Congrats to the likely winners and I look forward to the scanner machine recanvass, absentee ballot tallies, and final counts over the next few weeks."

This article needs to be edited to reflect the incompletion of the election results for East Hampton. Bill Wilkinson has not yet been defeated by Zach Cohen, but it's coming, thank goodness. Now maybe we won't hear as much from the delightful and charming Theresa K. Quigley, with all of her bright ideas to help the wealthy developers in our community.
