Riverhead - Legislator Ed Romaine, Southold Supervisor Scott Russell, Riverhead Supervisor Sean Walter, and Greenport Mayor David Nyce will hold a news conference on Friday, February 18, 2011 at 3:15 p.m. at the Greenport Railroad Station to discuss lack of weekend LIRR service on the North Fork.

While the region works cooperatively to generate traffic for its businesses in the traditionally quiet winter months, the LIRR has been less than cooperative. North Fork residents send over $15 million in taxes and fees to the MTA, including the job-killing payroll tax, and see little in return.
