On Friday, December 18, there will be several sightings of Santa Claus throughout Hamptons Bays when the Friends of the Hampton Bays Library present a Holiday Sleigh Ride Through Hampton Bays.
Escorted by the Southampton Town Police and the Hampton Bays Fire Department, Father Christmas will be making his way through the Hamptons village via sleigh, of course, starting at 5:30 p.m. Kris Kringle will also be accompanied by Sammy’s Lights on Wheels – an East Hampton-based holiday computerized light display on the go, which is typically parked on Montauk Highway in Amagansett on work days.
“The Friends of the Hampton Bays Library are happy to serve our community by organizing the Holiday Sleigh Ride,” shared Emily Cullings, President of The Friends of the Hampton Bays Library. “Supported by our local police and fire departments, our hope is that Santa will be able to bring joy to all during these challenging times.”
You’ll know Santa is close by the unmistakable sound of a fire truck horn or police sirens. Unfortunately, because of the pandemic, Saint Nick will not be stopping, but as he passes your home, make sure to wave.
To prevent gatherings, Santa’s route will not be disclosed, but the merry caravan will spread holiday cheer through as much of Hampton Bays as possible.
