Hamptons Halloween Jack-o’-Lantern Contests, Trivia Nights, Virtual Performances And Other Celebrations

While many of the traditional East End All Hallows' Eve festivities have been canceled this year, there are still plenty of fun ways to celebrate Halloween.

Westhampton Free Library is holding a week-long Halloween virtual scavenger hunt from Monday, October 26 through Friday, October 30. For more information, visit westhamptonlibrary.com.

Amagansett Free Library (215 Main Street, Amagansett) will welcome Joan Baum for a virtual talk on Mary Shelley's Frankenstein on Wednesday, October 28 at 6:00 p.m. Kids and families are welcome to stop by the library in costume for pumpkin decorating and a treat on Saturday, October 31 between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. For more information, visit amagansettlibrary.org.

Rogers Memorial Library of Southampton is presenting a virtual all day Pumpkin Carving Demonstration on Thursday, October 29. There will be several opportunities to catch Guild Hall's (158 Main Street, East Hampton) Stage Fright - four spine-chilling tales woven in the moonlight on All Hallows' Eve. Tales of the macabre will be shared on Thursday, October 29 at 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., Friday, October 30 at 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. and Saturday, October 31 at 6:30 p.m., 8:00 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Additionally, Liz Joyce & A Couple of Puppets: Minkie's Halloween Adventure will entertain little ones on Saturday, October 31 at 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. For more information, visit www.guildhall.org.

The East Hampton Historical Society is hosting its first annual Pumpkin Carving Contest at Mulford Farm (10 James Lane, East Hampton) on Friday, October 30. Entries must be dropped off between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., while the viewing is from 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. The contest is open to adults (16+) and juniors (Under 15), in the categories of scariest pumpkin and most creative pumpkin. Those interested in participating in Sag Harbor Historical Society's Annie's Field of Jack O'Lanterns may drop off their creations at the Annie Cooper Boyd House (174 Main Street, Sag Harbor) on Friday, October 30 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The masterpieces will be on view along the porch and fence on Friday and Saturday.
