This summer, East End non-profits have been busy thinking up creative ways to raise funds. On Saturday, August 15, The Bridgehampton Child Care & Recreational Center
hosted a tremendously successful CARe WASH benefit.
"I am so delighted that during these trying times, we could safely gather for The Center's first ever CARe WASH," Bonnie Michelle Cannon, The Bridgehampton Child Care & Recreational Center Executive Director, relayed.
Missy Hargraves, Gia and Edmondo de Picciotto and their sons, Maria Lavezzo and Santiago Campomar and their daughter, Mark and Heather Levine and their children, Amie McKenna and her daughter, Center teen, Christian Lyle, and Center parent BJ Walker spearheaded the sudsing up efforts.
"It was so good to have so many new faces see our campus and learn about the work being done on the Highway for over 65 years," Cannon shared.

In total, fourteen cars left gleaming clean. To ensure safety protocols were followed, participants were required to register in advance online and select a time for their vehicle to be washed. The fundraiser was supported by several notable names, including The Real Housewives of New York City
star Countess Luann de Lesseps
, actress Christine Evangelista
, Kim Heirston, and Michael Davies.
As part of The Center's "Kids Helping Kids' initiative, banners were sold to businesses and Center friends that will be hung up on The Center's fences through the fall.
"We feel blessed that our community continues to come together to show that they care for The Center's kids and families. The Center raised over $25,000," Cannon concluded.
Since the pandemic began, the non-profit has really ramped up its services. The Center's food pantry went from serving 70 people a month to now feeding over 750 individuals weekly. The Bridgehampton Child Care & Recreational Center has given out 43 emergency assistance checks to families in need and has continued to present educational and enrichment programs.
