COVID-19 testing will soon be available at the Montauk Public School (50 South Dorset Drive, Montauk).
Starting Tuesday, June 9, through Labor Day
, the testing site will be open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Testing, which was made possible thanks to a local business owner and joint efforts by the Montauk Chamber of Commerce
and the local business community - with support from Montauk Public School, will be operated by Stony Brook Southampton Hospital
"Montauk's Chamber members are a big family helping each other through tough times," said Kay Tyler, Executive Director of the Montauk Chamber of Commerce. "Seeing one of our members selflessly helping their erstwhile competitors and fellow Montaukers makes me proud to lead this organization and speaks volumes about who we are in Montauk."
The first two hours of testing will be reserved for employees of businesses that are members of the Montauk Chamber of Commerce - offered at no cost. Testing will be available for the broader Montauk community by appointment only - on a pay-for-service or insurance-paid basis - from 12 to 4 p.m.
"Ultimately the health and safety of our residents, workers and visitors is our most important priority, so I'm beyond excited to finally have a Montauk testing site that is easily accessible to our local population," Paul Monte
, President of the Montauk Chamber's Board of Directors, noted. "Knowing that our local workforce has been tested adds the last critical piece to the overall efforts of our members to ensure a safe environment for their patrons and guests."
To make an appointment, contact Montauk Medical Center at 631-668-3705.
"The Chamber tirelessly spearheads programs that help our businesses and the community, so we are especially grateful when our members' generosity helps us in these efforts," Monte added.
