As local schools are temporarily closed in response to the Coronavirus, Project MOST
has introduced a Distance Learning Lab where Project MOST instructors will lead fun and free virtual workshops.
"We are thrilled to be offering our online classes to the community," Rebecca Morgan Taylor, Project MOST Executive Director, reflected. "It not only is keeping us connected to our students and families yet also providing some work to our enrichment staff."
Programming premiered with a jazz/open style class taught by Anita Boyer
, Our Fabulous Variety Show
"I love teaching for Project MOST because it gives so many kids access to dance who otherwise might not get to try. I really miss being in the schools and dancing with everyone in person so the virtual learning is a nice way to stay in touch remotely!" Boyer shared. "I am grateful to Martha and the team for trying to give us some work during this extremely difficult time. As a freelance dance teacher every opportunity is greatly appreciated!"
A Kids Yoga with Alyson Follenius video is also available on Project MOST's YouTube
"At this time, we will be offering one class each day on our social media
platforms," Morgan Taylor noted. "There will be dance, STEM, yoga and mediation and fun fitness this week."
Project MOST, which was founded in 2000 under the umbrella of East Hampton Day Care, offers essential after school care. Since its inception, the non-profit organization has impacted nearly 6,000 local elementary
school students from the Springs Public School and John M. Marshall Elementary School in East Hampton, offering a variety of enriching programming and also academic assistance programs.
Project MOST also advises that in these trying times exercise is a terrific way to alleviate stress - for all ages. In addition to the Distance Learning Lab, the YMCA is offering Virtual Fitness classes. To learn more, visit ymcali.org
