The Third Annual Fall Festival, presented by the East Hampton Chamber of Commerce, will once again take over Herrick Park in East Hampton.

"It's a true community event to celebrate fall and the harvest season," Glenn O. Vickers, Chamber President, explained. "The sights, sounds and flavors of this season are especially beautiful in East Hampton this time of year."

On Saturday, October 19, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., festival-goers can enjoy live music - ranging from bluegrass to blues - nosh on tasty bites, peruse items made by local artists, partake in crafts, challenges, and a seasonal parade, admire antique emergency vehicles, learn about East End non-profits, and much more. Annie and the Band, The Jan Hanna Band, Twenty Seven Dollars and the East Hampton High School Jazz Band are among this year's headliners.

Over 50 booths featuring local artists, shopkeepers, and non-profits will be showcased.

Non-profits represented will include Guild Hall, Ellen Hermanson Foundation, St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Triune Baptist, Share the Harvest, Project Most, East Hampton Farm Museum and more.

"The Fall Festival is a joyous celebration of local businesses and organizations and shows East Hampton at its best," Julie Ratner, Ellen Hermanson Founder, shared. "I love to see all the children and adults milling about having a great time. And I especially love when they stop by The Ellen Hermanson Foundation booth!"

Many of the featured organizations bring along something special for booth visitors. "It is so much fun to talk with passers-by and introduce them to the wonderful work of The Ellen Hermanson Foundation," Ratner said. "We always come with a stash of t-shirts to give away. It's a great way to make new friends."

For those that love to highlight the season's bounty in their cooking, Share the Harvest is a must-visit. "Our fall crops are coming in just in time for this weekend's fair!" Jess Tonn of Share the Harvest noted. "We'll have a great selection of broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, kale, pumpkins, squash, herbs, and other fall favorites, as well as birdhouses, dried beans, and activities for the kids."

Tom Rickard Photography, Woodworker Barry Kreiswirth, Abstract artist Steve Haweeli and others will be highlighting their exceptional works.

"I paint contemporary abstracts often inspired by the surrounding ocean and bay waters," Haweeli shared. "Blues at 3:40 PM was inspired by an ocean vista in Montauk."

Haweeli and Kreiswirth, who are Hamilton College fraternity brothers, will share a booth entitled, "Oils and Wood," which will encompass Haweeli's artwork and Kreiswirth's beautiful woodworking and furniture, including benches, bowls, cutting boards and mirrors created utilizing a myriad of unique woods such as Asian Ebony, Bubinga, Purple Heart and Zebrawood.

There will be a plethora of entertaining activities for children, including the YMCA East Hampton RECenter sponsored inflatable bounce rides, fall craft project, healthy fitness obstacle course and 40' climbing rockwall. Art projects will be held in the gazebo and since Halloween is right around the corner, the Festival will boast a special haunted pumpkin patch and pumpkin carving. A spooky costume parade for kids and parents will step off at 12 p.m.

All ages will revel in the chance to check out the antique fire trucks, boats and other emergency vehicles on display. Additionally, the live mural painting will certainly be a spectacular sight.

Since this is an all day affair, there will be plenty of food options for when you get hungry. Attendees can enjoy wood fired pizza from Around the Fire, hand-made pretzels from Knot of this World, or offerings from Noah's on the Road, Perfect Pickle, or The Golden Pear. And, if you're looking for dessert, both Kona Ice and Mr. Softee will be onsite. Of course, Village eateries will also be open all day and many will be hosting specials in honor of the Festival.

Herrick Park is located at 67 Newtown Lane in East Hampton. For more information, call 631-324-0362 or visit www.easthamptonchamber.com.
