If you’ve already found the cutest Halloween ensemble for your four-legged friend, mark your calendar because there’s plenty of pet friendly Hamptons happenings.
First up is Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation’s Wag-o-ween Spooktacular on Sunday, October 20. The Halloween themed event at the Shelter (102 Old Riverhead Road West, Hampton Bays, 631-728-7387, southamptonanimalshelter.com) will feature trick or treating, a pet costume contest ($5 entry), a pumpkin painting contest ($5 entry), face painting, photobooth ($5 donation per family) and more spooky fun. Of course the Shelter’s adorable animals will be available for meet and greets.
Little Lucy’s Canine Couture Boutique’s 19th Annual Halloween Pet Parade will take place on Saturday, October 26. The parade will step off from Agawam Park (23 Main Street, Southampton, 631-287-2352, www.facebook.com) at 1 p.m. Held in support of Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons (ARF), after the stroll throughout the Village there will be a Costume Contest – judged by “Celebrity Judges” with their famous Pets, raffles, live music, a special appearance the cats and dogs of ARF, and additional exciting festivities.
Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons will host a Halloween Pawty at the ARF Adoption Center (124 Daniels Hole Road, East Hampton, 631-537-0400, arfhamptons.org) on Saturday, November 2 from 12 to 3 p.m. The pet friendly party will include tricks and treats, a haunted agility course, contests, low cost vaccines, the chance to meet ARFans in need of a forever home, and much more. ARF will also be offering $10 FVRCP, DA2PP, bordetella, rabies and microchipping (for cats and dogs only – $25 fee for each vaccine for unaltered animals).
