Two monstrous, inspiring efforts to beautify and clean up the Hamptons are taking place on Saturday, May 4.

Throughout "The End," Concerned Citizens of Montauk, in partnership with Montauk School PTA, Mickey's Carting, Third House Nature Center, Montauk Brewing Co., EH Town Trustees, EH Town Litter Committee, EH Trail Preservation Society, Group for the East End, Imagination Nature, Montauk Chamber of Commerce, Peconic Estuary Program, Peconic Baykeeper, Montauk Beach Property Owners Association and South Fork Natural History Museum, is spearheading the annual Great Montauk Cleanup.

Taking place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., volunteers will meet at the CCOM Office (6 South Elmwood Avenue, Montauk) to collect buckets, bags and gloves, and then set off to their favorite Montauk spots to tidy up the area. As a thank-you, Great Montauk Cleanup organizers will supply coffee, donuts, cider and kid snacks for those that participate.

"CCOM is excited to have partnered with the Montauk School PTA this year - we're hoping it will result in a fantastic community turnout, with families and businesses alike, working together to help preserve the beauty of Montauk," Kate Rossi-Snook, Concerned Citizens of Montauk Environmental Advocate, said.

Once they've filled their bags, volunteers are asked to bring them to the dumpster donated by Mickey's Carting that will be located at the CCOM Office.

The rate date is Sunday, May 5.

Additionally, the 2019 Great East End Clean-Up will take place on Saturday, May 4 and Sunday, May 5.

For the two day happening, which will take place rain or shine, attendees should select an area of public property - like a park, beach, trail, or roadside - that is in need of a little TLC. Then, register to participate online by Tuesday, April 30.

Southampton Town will provide the garbage bags and volunteers will receive a complimentary pass to the Town recycling centers (North Sea, Hampton Bays, and Westhampton) to dispose of their finds.

The Great East End Clean-Up brings out about 600 volunteers each year, who collect and remove 30 tons of litter and debris from public places.

To sign up, visit www.southamptontownny.gov.

And, for those into repurposing the waste, there will be an Upcycle Art Event at Good Ground Park in Hampton Bays utilizing plastic collected during the Great East End Cleanup. The event will take place from 12 to 3 p.m. and the rain date is Sunday, May 5.
