Late Summer And Fall Hamptons And East End Festivals

Summer may be coming to a close, but that means it's time for fall festivals. East End happenings offer everything from a maritime celebration to a San Gennaro Feast to an oysterfest, music festival, film festival, and more.

Garlic lovers will unite at Garden of Eve Organic Farm & Market (4558 Sound Avenue, Riverhead, gardenofevefarm.com) on Saturday, September 15 and Sunday, September 16 for the 15th Annual Long Island Garlic Festival. The "all-day celebration of the wonders of 'Garliciana'" will revolve around garlic inspired foods, as well as music, garlic-themed contests, and more. The Festival launches at 10 a.m. and culminates at 6 p.m. on both days.

The East End Seaport Museum's 29th annual East End Maritime Festival (www.eastendseaport.org) will take place Friday, September 21 through Sunday, September 23. The festivities begin with the Land & Sea Gala benefit - taking place on Friday from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Greenport Yacht & Shipbuilding Co. The weekend-long celebration of local maritime heritage continues on Saturday, September 22 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, September 23 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The 3rd Annual Long Island Fresh Hop Festival LI Hops will take place at Jamesport Farm Brewery (5873 Sound Avenue, Riverhead, lifreshhopfestival.com) on Saturday, September 22 from 12:30 to 4 p.m. Attendees will enjoy a variety of locally brewed beers made with locally grown and harvested hops, many brewed in small batches for this event only.

The Sag Harbor American Music Festival (sagharbormusic.org) is back to offer two completely complimentary days of music throughout Sag Harbor on Saturday, September 29 and Sunday, September 30. The Music Festival will also host two ticketed shows: A Celebration of Sly & The Family Stone at Bay Street Theater on Thursday, September 27 and Dan Tyminski at Old Whalers Church on Friday, September 28.

The 8th annual San Gennaro Feast of the Hamptons (www.sangennarofeastofthehamptons.com) will return to Good Ground Road in Hampton Bays on Saturday, September 29 and Sunday, September 30 - with a Friday night Kick-off Party featuring the Nitework Band taking place under the big tent from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. The Feast - which "offers a fun mixture of new activities as well as old favorites that are sure to entertain the entire family" - will be open Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The 26th Annual Hamptons International Film Festival (hamptonsfilmfest.org) will take place Thursday, October 4 through Monday, October 8. HIFF will kick-off with Sara Colangelo's The Kindergarten Teacher, starring Maggie Gyllenhaal who will be attending the Festival.

The 37th Fall Festival, presented by the Montauk Chamber of Commerce, (www.montaukchamber.com) will take place on the Village Green on Saturday, October 6 and Sunday, October 7 - with the highly anticipated Clam Chowder Contest taking place on Saturday at 11 a.m. The Festival will include live music, local beers and wine, Oktoberfest fare, complimentary horse carousel rides, the Montauk Farmers' Market, a cash catch, and more. The Festival will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

Westhampton Kiwanis is hosting its annual Oysterfest (www.whboysterfest.com) on Saturday, October 6 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Taking place at the Westhampton Beach Village Marina, the afternoon will feature exceptional bites, local craft brews and wines, live music, contests - including chowder and clam shucking competitions, as well as pirate shows, sword-fighting lessons, Jester Jim, and more.

The Riverhead Country Fair (riverheadcountryfair.com) will take place at the Peconic River Front on Sunday, October 7 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Celebrating Riverhead's agricultural heritage, the Fair will showcase the works of artists, as well as offer agricultural and homemaking displays and competitions, and welcome authors, entertainers, and local merchants. The afternoon will also include food, amusement rides, pony rides, business expositions and displays, and more.

Southamptonfest (southamptonfest.live) - "a modern harvest of fun with music, dance, food, history, art and much more" - will run Friday, October 12 through Sunday, October 14. The festivities begin with the Southampton Rotary Club Cocktail Party at Agawam Park on Friday from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Southamptonfest continues on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. - offering exciting happenings like the Annual Best of Southampton Chowder Contest, Taste of the East End, a Cornhole Tournament, an Art Zone and much, much more.

A Fall Festival will take place at Riverhead Raceway (1797 Old Country Road, Riverhead, www.riverheadraceway.com) on Sunday, October 14. From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., stop by for family fun with a bounce house, Slide POP Bracelets, petting zoo presented by Double D Bar Ranch, and more. There will also be a variety of vendors - over 100 - presenting their exceptional items and a myriad of tasty, classic fall bites.

The East Hampton Chamber of Commerce will present its Second Annual Fall Festival (www.easthamptonchamber.com) on Saturday, October 20. Taking place throughout East Hampton Village from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., there will be over 50 booths set up in Herrick Park featuring local artisans, non-profits, and more, live music all day, plenty for kids and families - including a "Magical Tree House" - bites from local favorites and more.
