Citizens for Access Rights (CfAR) and Hamptons Drive-In will host their annual Outdoor Family Movie Night on Tuesday, August 21 at Pantigo Ball Fields in East Hampton.
The featured movie this year is Jurassic Park. The classic follows John Hammond who invites four people along with two of his grandchildren to Jurassic Park, an island full of living dinosaurs, to experience the prehistoric wonders firsthand. However, when an employee steals dinosaur embryos, security systems are shut down and dinosaurs are free to roam the island.
“We are excited to bring back our annual outdoor movie night this year,” said Nicole Castillo of Citizens for Access Rights. “It’s a great family friendly event that is fun for everyone as well as an opportunity to remind people about the importance of public beach access. The event has a new location this year on the Pantigo Place ball field and we are excited to show Jurassic Park.“
The movie will start at 8:30 p.m. and gates open an hour prior. Guests are encouraged to bring beach chairs and blankets. Snacks and other refreshments as well as apparel will be available for purchase.
Tickets are $5 for non-members and free for 2018 CfAR members.
CfAR is made up of East End residents who support open access to local beaches, as the beach is one of the treasures of living on the East End. In response to the two lawsuits in which private individuals are claiming to own the ocean beach at Napeague, CfAR has come together to support the Trustees, the Town Board and any other governmental body to oppose the privatization of our beaches.
All proceeds from the Outdoor Family Movie Night support CfAR’s efforts to protect beach access on the East End and to defend the current lawsuit affecting the stretch of beach on Napeague.
