The Shelter Island Chamber of Commerce is currently looking for vendors to be featured in the Chamber’s 54th Annual Art Show & Craft Fair, which will be held on Saturday, August 26 on the grounds of the Shelter Island School.
“We are so excited to put together this year’s lineup of artists and vendors,” shared Janalyn Travis-Messer, who organizes the Art Show & Craft Fair. “We have some favorites that come back year after year, and we love introducing new artwork and handcrafted good to our attendees each year.”
From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., nearly 100 fine artists and craftspeople will highlight their unique, handmade goods. Many of the Fair’s vendors have returned year after year for over 40 years.
To be considered, vendors must design, produce and sell their own products, and send in a photograph of themselves in their workshop/studio.
In addition to the wonderful widespread collection of extraordinary homemade goodies, the show will also include a section that celebrates the area, showcasing Shelter Island memorabilia like the Garden Club of Shelter Island’s annual Christmas ornament, the Shelter Island Historical Society’s books and artwork, and various Shelter Island logo apparel items.
The Art Show & Craft Fair will also feature a raffle that encompasses an assortment of the artist/craftsperson’s handmade items in support of the Shelter Island High School Scholarship Fund.
