Montauk Village Association (MVA) is pleased to host The Greenery Scenery Benefit on Friday, August 19th from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Montauk Lake Club and Marina. The evening will honor the Montauk Lighthouse Committee.
This annual event helps the non-profit organization raise funds to help “keep Montauk clean and green,” by planting and maintaining trees and flower beds in downtown Montauk Village, as well as adding and maintaining teak benches and the Memorial Garden in the heart of Montauk.
“The Greenery Scenery Benefit is a wonderful Montauk tradition,” said Montauk Village Association President, Nancy Keeshan. “Each summer the MVA holds this event to raise money for our village beautification program. It’s an event famous for it’s large attendance of local business owners and longtime residents.”
The 2016 event will toast to an organization that takes care of an iconic Montauk locale. “This year we celebrate our 55th year as Montauk’s oldest non-profit organization and are honoring the Montauk Lighthouse Committee for their tremendous work preserving the beautiful Montauk Light,” she explained. “We expect well over 200 people at the Montauk Lake Club.”
Guests will enjoy food, drink, raffles, a live auction, and live music. “There will be lots of food, an open bar, a live auction, our ‘Go Green’ raffle drawing for prizes up to $10,000, as well as dancing to the great music of Montauk’s Joe Delia & Thieves, added Keeshan. “It’s really one of the best Montauk-centric parties of the year, and truly not to be missed.”
Tickets can be purchased in advance at Heeshan Real Estate for $125 per person or $150 at the door.
The Montauk Village Association is Montauk’s oldest non-profit civic organization. The volunteer run organization’s mission is “to keep the village beautiful.”
