Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons, Inc. (ARF) recently announced that its LemonARF Stand program will be returning for the summer.
A Club for Kids, LemonARF aims to inspire children to join the world of philanthropy by raising money for the animals up for adoption at ARF, as well as its programs. It largely mimics a traditional lemonade stand and an LemonARF starter kit is available for any child interested in getting involved.
“Perhaps the greatest gift to come from the LemonARF Program is not the money itself, which is always needed, but instead knowing that these children have had such a positive experience helping others in their community that they are sure to be great philanthropists all of their lives,” explained Director of Philanthropy at ARF, Jennifer Rockford.
Along with raising money for ARF, the goal of the Club is to allow kids to have fun while working hard. Participants are also encouraged to bring their own items to sell, like homemade jewelry.
The LemonARF Stand starter kit includes: a homemade lemonade recipe, cookie recipe, promotional poster, minibank for money earned, cups with logos, and buttons for the LemonARF team to wear. The experience also provides children with the opportunity to learn about customer service and handling money.
This is a great opportunity to get youth involved in supporting a fantastic local cause. Last summer, LemonARF was able to raise $6,000 that helped fund various Shelter programs. Dedicated to providing animals with caring homes, ARF is the leading animal adoption center on the East End of Long Island.
