They’re there to greet you when you get home from work. They’re there to surprise you with a kiss to brighten your day when you need it most. And their love is always unconditional, which is why a pet owner’s adoration for their four-legged, furry family member often knows no bounds.
On Sunday, December 13th, Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation is opening its doors to allow the East End community the opportunity to meet with the man of the month, Santa Claus. With the photo op taking place at the local animal shelter, make sure to bring along one of the most beloved members of your clan. “A family holiday photo is not complete without including our furry members as well,” noted Linda Goldsmith, Public Relations, Marketing & Advertising Administrator of Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation.
So break out the family’s matching holiday sweaters and get ready to pose with Father Christmas, because from 12 to 4 p.m. guests can share a sentimental moment with St. Nick, as a photographer captures the moment. Christmas may only be weeks away, but let’s face it, it’s never too soon to start planning for next year’s holiday card.
Attendees will receive a 5×7 print, as well as a digital version of the photo, via email. Admission is a $20 donation to the Shelter.
For those really looking to make the day all about the holiday spirit, don’t forget to browse through Southampton Animal Shelter’s selection of holiday wreaths (available both decorated and undecorated). The traditional seasonal decor is also on display at the Shelter’s Thrift Shop (30 Jagger Lane, Southampton). The wreaths, which are from Lynch’s Garden Center, were hand-decorated by SASF Vet Assistant Kim Cannon, and proceeds from their sale support the Shelter’s vital efforts.
Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation is located at 102 Old Riverhead Road West in Hampton Bays. For more information, call 631-728-7387 or visit www.southamptonanimalshelter.com.
