“This year, The Hampton Library will be partnering with St. Ann’s Episcopal Church of Bridgehampton and conducting a food drive to provide for families in need,” noted Josh Perry, Head Youth Services Librarian of The Hampton Library.
From Sunday, November 1st through Saturday, November 14th, the East End community can stop by The Hampton Library in Bridgehampton to painlessly pluck a feather from a special holiday guest. Drumstick, the Library’s “turkey,” is stationed in their Joyce Goldman Children’s Room. Each of the “turkey’s” feathers are labeled with a different food item needed for the drive, like canned yams, gravy, canned pumpkin, mashed potatoes, canned fruit and other seasonal goods. “Anyone interested in participating can take a feather and bring in the item written on the feather and drop it off in the box beneath Drumstick,” explained Perry.
Donated items from the annual holiday season event will help allow local families in need create a jubilant and bountiful Thanksgiving meal.
The Hampton Library is located at 2478 Main Street in Bridgehampton. For more information, call 631-537-0015 or visit hamptonlibrary.org.
