On Friday, November 6th, Southampton Hospital and the East Hampton Healthcare Foundation are co-sponsoring a complimentary community health fair taking place at the Montauk Library.
“We’re pleased to hold this month’s community health fair at the Montauk Library,” shared Sheila Rogers, Director of the East Hampton Healthcare Foundation. “We encourage the community to attend this free event, especially those who do not have access to regular healthcare services.”
From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., attendees will have the chance to take advantage of several services and meet with experts, who will answer inquiries about healthcare. “Free health screenings will be available, as well as important educational information from a variety of health services and providers,” noted Rogers.
The event will feature free health screenings (cholesterol, blood pressure, HIV, and colorectal), as well as a stress relief circle. Fairgoers will also have the opportunity to make appointments for no-cost mammogram and pap tests (for uninsured women over the age of 40). Health insurance and Medicare representatives will be on hand, as will members of East Hampton Town’s Human Services, Hudson River Health Care, HEAP and Project Warmth, and The Retreat.
Montauk Library is located at 871 Montauk Highway in Montauk. For more information, call 631-329-2425 or visit www.easthamptonhealthcare.org.
