Southampton Village was transformed into a winter wonderland on Saturday, November 29, 2014, as the annual Parade of Lights wrapped around Main Street and culminated with Santa sitting on his sleigh welcoming in the Christmas season.
Paradegoers kept warm with blankets and hot coco as fire trucks, ambulances, and other emergency vehicles plastered in Christmas cheer paraded down the street. Members of each department were seen both in the vehicles and walking behind them, waving to community members and showering children with candy canes and seasonal sweets.
The vehicles and floats included in the parade were decked in holiday lights, Christmas wreaths, garland, and big bows, and were illuminated by flashing lights and screaming sirens.
The holiday happening culminated at Agawam Park where the annual Christmas tree lighting commenced, officially marking the start of the holiday season in Southampton.
