Fourth of July in the Hamptons is always an exciting time of the year. Whether you’re watching from the beach, a restaurant in Montauk, or the deck of your boat, nothing puts you in a more patriotic mood than a good fireworks show. Here is where you can enjoy the 2014 fireworks and festivities.
The Commission on Veterans Patriotic Events is scheduled to hold it’s annual Southampton Village Independence Day Parade on Friday, July 4th at 10 a.m. The floats in this year’s parade will enter on Elm Street from Hampton Road, across from the Southampton Town Hall. The parade begins at Railroad Plaza, continuing down North Main Street, Main Street, Jobs Lane, with the review stand at Monument
Square at Agawam Park. Parking will be available in Our Lady of Poland Church’s parking lot.
The North Sea Fire Department in Southampton will hold its annual carnival and fireworks celebration done by Bay Fireworks. The North Sea Fire Department is located at 149 Noyac Road. The firework show will begin at approximately 10 p.m. on July 4th. People are able to anchor their boats in Little Peconic Bay for a good view.
The Suffolk Theater in Riverhead will be hosting a, “July 4th on Main Street” celebration from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., preceding the Riverhead fireworks show. The Freedom Fest is offering free food, as well as a musical performance by GI Jivesters. There will be a fireworks show to follow, held at Grangebel Park, at 9:00 p.m. on Friday, July 4th. The park is located on Peconic Avenue.
The Montauk Chamber of Commerce will host their annual “Stars Over Montauk” fireworks show by the famous, Grucci Fireworks. The show is set to begin at 9 p.m. and will be held at Umbrella Beach on July 4th. The show should last about 25 minutes. The Montauk Chamber has sponsored this show for over 16 years. Note: Due to the potential rain and wind, the fireworks show scheduled for Friday night has been moved to the rain date of Saturday night. It will start at 9 p.m.
The Westhampton Beach Country Club will hold their annual Grucci fireworks show at 8 p.m. on Friday, July 4th for those at the club as well as people viewing from Main Street and on nearby Dune Road. If there is inclement weather, the rain date will be July 5th.
The Sag Harbor Yacht Club will hold the “John A. Ward Independence Day Fireworks” celebration on Saturday, July 5th at about 9:30 p.m. The best spot to view will be from Marine Park, Haven’s Beach, or Sag Harbor’s Long Wharf. Make sure to arrive early as they are expecting about 20,000 spectators for the Grucci show!
Gurney’s Resort in Montauk is pairing up with CATCH NYC on this Fourth for a beach party. At Gurney’s Beach Club, there will be, CATCH Beach Ball will be happening from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. DJ sets will be on from Viceroy and DJ Chromeo. Directly following the beach party, there will be a fireworks show on the beach at 9 p.m.

The Southampton Fresh Air Home for physically challenged children is scheduled to host the American Picnic with Fireworks by Grucci event. Originally scheduled for Friday July 4th, it has been postponed until Sunday, July 6th due to the incoming rains from Hurricane Arthur. The event will take place from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., and the fireworks are scheduled to go off at 9:15 p.m. Tickets are still available.
