"The first annual
Hamptons Wellness Week is a weeklong community-based celebration of wellness for the body, mind, and soul, from Montauk to Westhampton," noted
Kiley Sabatino and
Anastasia Gavalas, Hamptons Wellness Week Founders. While many may have getting in shape on their list of New Year's resolution, getting started can be challenging.
One Healthy Hamptons is ready to help East End residents get a jump start with their inaugural event.
The duo is extremely excited for the benefit and came up with the idea because they wanted to make nutrition and fitness more accessible throughout the community. Due to an overwhelming response for the debut event, the week full of nutritional education and exercise will be an annual happening. "Hamptons Wellness Week benefits the
Wing It Project and supports local businesses and a healthier 2014 for all," Sabatino told Hamptons.com.
Hamptons Wellness Week will begin on Sunday, January 12, and run through Friday, January 17. Participants can take up to seven fitness classes for $5 at more than 15 fitness studios from Westhampton to Montauk. Participating gyms include
Ananda Yoga,
Body Tech, Bradford Method, Cinema Cycle, Cross Fit Hamptons,
Exceed Physical Culture,
Evolution Fitness,
Exhale Spa,
Hamptons Hot Yoga,
KamaDeva Yoga,
Norma Jean Pilates,
Physique 57,
Southampton Hospital Wellness Institute
Mandala Yoga,
Silich TRX,
Studio 3,
Studio 89, and
The Body Shop.
The event will also feature evening lectures and learning, coaching and a closing party at Fresh Hamptons, which will have a raffle to benefit the Wing It Project, Wellness Week cocktails, and a healthy tasting.
Sabatino and Gavalas encourage Hamptons residents to get the whole family involved. They are hosting a complimentary "Make Your Own Pizza and Wings" event for children on Friday, January 17. To reserve your spot email
