Before overindulging during Thanksgiving dinner, build up an appetite at the Turkey Trot-Run For Fun in Montauk. Check in is from 8 to 9:30 a.m. at the Montauk Chamber of Commerce. The race begins at 10 a.m. at the Montauk Circle and has two options, 3 miles or 6 miles. The first 300 registered will receive a free T-shirt. On Saturday, November 30, head to the Hamptons Village for several holiday activities. From 1 to 3 p.m., bring the family to the free Annual Family Holiday Fun Day with holiday crafts, tree ornaments making, entertainment from Miss Melody, Christmas caroling, and holiday favorites like hot chocolate, cider, and cookies at the Montauk Yacht Club. Stock up on holiday gifts at The Montauk Community Church Holiday Fair and Rummage Sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. If travel is in you future, stock up on winter reading at The Montauk Library Holiday Book Sale from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The afternoon will finish with the 6th Annual Lighting of The Lighthouse from 4:30 to 7 p.m. The scenic view of the lighthouse as it lights up is worth the wait. Santa will make an appearance at the lighting, which will also have live music and caroling. A Rain Date is set for Saturday, December 7.
Santa will visit Montauk again during Christmas at the Lighthouse on Sunday, December 1, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Rain Date will be Monday, December 2.
