The San Gennaro Feast of the Hamptons kicks off with the 3rd Annual Parade, which will be lead by Grand Marshal Dominick Spoto on Saturday, October 5. The two day festival features Italian delicacies, music, crafts, Grucci fireworks, a carnival and fun for all ages.
Spoto, a prominent member of the community, has been a resident of Hampton Bays since 1977. The esteemed San Gennaro Feast of the Hampton’s Board of Director member noted, “[The Festival] brings prestige to Hampton Bays. It gives the visitors from all over Long Island a new perspective on Hampton Bays.”
Attendees can taste a variety of East End favorites including Scotto’s Fine Italian Foods, Oakland’s Restaurant, 1 North Steakhouse, Rumba, Boa – Asian Fusion, Hampton Coffee Company, Crabman Crabcakes, Inn Spot on the Bay, Shuckers, Emily’s Apple Puffs and other delicious vendors.
The San Gennaro Feast of the Hamptons has a variety of entertainment planned including music from Johnny Avino, Filthy Crickets, Franco Corso, and Carmello. “American Idol” finalist Big Mike Lynche and Broadway’s “Movin’ Out” star Henry Haid will join forces for an All Star East Coast performance.
Southampton Town will continue their efforts to increase recycling of plastic bags and reduce their presence in the environment at the Festival. On Saturday, attendees can support the “A Greener Southampton—the Solution is in the Bag” campaign from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Stop by the Town’s table for a free reusable tote bag sponsored by Bach/Grazina East End Orthodontics filled with giveaways from King Kullen and Stop & Shop.
The Festival’s main goals are to bring together the community as well as help extend the Hamptons season. Proceeds benefit those in need and will also be used towards a scholarship fund for local schools.
The San Gennaro Feast Of The Hamptons will be held at Good Ground Road in Hampton Bays. For more information visit www.sangennarofeastofthehamptons.com.
