"This record response, though, is also confirmation of 88.3's large listening audience of influential thoughtful leaders and opinion makers," Dr. Smith added, "and bodes well for Peconic Public Broadcasting, Inc., the new community-owned non-profit corporation which is acquiring the station from Long Island University. It's never too late," he continued, "for listeners to show their support, even though the on-air fund drive is over. Contributions can still be made on line at the new website capital
campaign which will allow the station to become a major community-owned resource for eastern Long Island and southern Connecticut."
