"This was one of our most important fundraisers," noted East Hampton House & Garden Tour Event Chairman, Joseph Aversano. "So while you're contemplating a magnificent swimming pool and cabana, an alée of hydrangeas connecting one garden to another, or a historical Osborne property, your dollars will be hard at work supporting the East Hampton Historical Society and its museums."

On Friday, November 28th, local East End dignitaries, architects, interior designers, home aficionados, design enthusiasts, and history buffs celebrated the start of the holiday season and Hamptons architecture during a kick off cocktail party for the East Hampton House & Garden Tour. Commemorating its 30th year, the benefit was held at the historical Maidstone Club for the first time.

"When selecting a site for the Opening Night Cocktail, we look for a historical building that can accommodate 300 plus people," said Richard Barons, Director of the East Hampton Historical Society. "We're thrilled to have hosted our annual event at the Maidstone Club because it is such an important and iconic building."

The next day, attendees took a tour of five impressive homes and gardens during the East Hampton House & Garden Tour. This year's theme was focused on the role shingles play in the architecture of the Hamptons Town.
