Eastern Long Island Audubon Society Presents "Falconry...An Ancient But Not Forgotten Sport"

The Eastern Long Island Audubon Society is holding its annual birding dinner at East Wind in Wading River on Wednesday, October 15, 2014, at 6 p.m. The evening will feature a lecture led by Christopher Paparo about Falconry, "an ancient but not forgotten sport."

Paparo is a licensed general class falconer, wildlife photographer, writer and lecturer. With a passion for coastal ecology and the outdoors, his mission is to raise public awareness on Long Island's wildlife. Paparo obtained his BS in Marine Science from LIU/Southampton and currently manages the Marine Sciences Center on Stony Brook's Southampton campus in addition to writing a monthly column for the New York/New Jersey edition of On The Water Magazine.

The dinner is open to the public and tickets are $50 per person. The evening will include a sit-down dinner and cash bar as well as raffles and prizes.
