On Saturday, August 9, 2014, the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM) hosted their annual Hamptons benefit, "Passion for Compassion," raising over $150,000 for the organization. Held at a private estate in Amagansett, event attendees enjoyed a special presentation by PCRM President Dr. Neal Barnard as well as an evening of cocktails, delicious delights, music and charming chats.

John Bradham co-hosted the event at his stunning Amagansett home, where guests raised significant proceeds for PCRM and their work towards promoting preventative medicine practices through good nutrition and a healthy lifestyle. Dorothy Frankel and Michael Schwarz also co-hosted the soiree.

While enjoying plant-based hors d'oeuvres from Suite ThreeOhSix, dessert from the Vegan Treats Bakery and music from DJ Stretch Armstrong and Paul Gene, guests settled down to hear from PCRM President and members and supporters of the cause.

During his presentation, Dr. Barnard addressed the cruelty of animal testing and the alternatives that PCRM is urging universities and cities across the globe to utilize. "Everybody who's here is here for one reason, you've got a heart," the PCRM President said. "You have a heart for people, for animals, or, I'm guessing, you have a heart for anybody who's vulnerable, who's hurt."

Bradham also discussed PCRM's ultimate message, which he described as a win-win. "They're improving the lives of countless people and animals. They're changing minds, but obviously there is much more to do," noted the event co-host. "So, let's get behind them tonight and give them the support they need to keep working."

After the riveting, and at times emotional presentation, it was announced that an anonymous attendee offered to match any donation up to $25,000. A generous guest quickly accepted the offer, in turn achieving a standing ovation and the room's appreciation.

Throughout the evening, Dr. Barnard and other PCRM members were sure to thank all guests for their continued support and their generous contributions that have allowed PCRM to flourish. "We're going to change this world and that's what I want to see," Dr. Barnard said to attendees.
