The Hamptons took over Manhattan for the 29th Annual Guild Hall Academy of the Arts Lifetime Achievement Awards. The East Hampton cultural center honored East End visionaries during a ceremony at Sotheby's in New York City.

Alec Baldwin served as the evening's Master of Ceremonies. Among honorees was Barbara Walters who was presented the Literary-Media Arts Award by Alan Alda. Blythe Danner was honored with the Performing Arts Award by Bob Balaban. Philippe de Montebello received the Visual Arts Award from Ann Tenenbaum. Jo Carole and Ronald S. Lauder were awarded the Special Award for Leadership and Philanthropic Endeavors from Michael Lynne.

The Academy recognizes both year-round and summer East End residents who have shown merit in the literary, performing, and visual arts. The gala benefited Guild Hall's mission to commemorate the artistic talent on the East End through educating, inspiring, and enriching diverse audiences with exceptional year-round programming.

Guild Hall is located at 158 Main Street in East Hampton. For more information call 631-324-0806 or visit www.guildhall.org.
