Playhouse Project Presents Fourth Annual Benefit Concert

East Hampton - Playhouse Project founders Mirra Bank and Richard Brockman present the Fourth Annual Playhouse Project Benefit Concert on Saturday, June 14 at 6 p.m. at The Playhouse, located at 64 Huntting Lane in East Hampton.

Awadagin Pratt

Featured artists include the extraordinary American pianist Awadagin Pratt and acclaimed Croatian guitarist Robert Belinić;. The concert takes place in and around the grounds of the majestic Playhouse, one of the architectural gems of East Hampton. The evening is offered in association with Swiss Global Artistic Foundation Founder and President, Heather deHaes and Artistic Director and internationally renowned conductor, Geoffrey Simon.

This unique evening of classical music brings together two great virtuosos, Awadagin Pratt, acclaimed for his amazing musical insight and performance range and Robert Belenić;, described by the New York Concert Review as possessing "the most intense passion, energy and charisma of any guitarist I have heard."

The evening will also include performances by the two winning students of this year's Elizabeth Brockman Award in Classical Music, as well as an awards ceremony in which they each receive prizes of $1,000. In addition, several Judges Awards of
$250 will be made, and this year one winning vocalist will be awarded a free Voice Class with noted mezzo-soprano Barbara Conrad. Also, South Fork music teachers are eligible for a grant of up to $2,500 for an original teaching project designed to enrich the musical experience of his or her students.

A reception with the artists follows the concert. Tickets are $90 per person. For additional information contact Janet Goleas at 631-604-2852.
