Donna Karan, Charla Lawhon, In Style Magazine and special guest Kelly Ripa, will host The Ovarian Cancer Research Fund's (OCRF) tenth annual Super Saturday on Saturday, July 28th at Nova¡¦s Ark Project in Water Mill, NY from 1:00PM - 6:00PM.
Super Saturday 10 is a fun-filled, family-oriented, daylong fundraiser to benefit OCRF, complete with a one-of-a-kind designer garage sale, kids carnival and activities, raffle and entertainment. Once dubbed "the Rolls Royce of garage sales," the most anticipated element of Super Saturday, the fashion garage sale, includes items from over 200 of the most prominent designers: Donna Karan, Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, Gucci, Vera Wang, Theory, Marc Jacobs, Hugo Boss, Diane Von Furstenberg, Carolina Herrera, Helmut Lang, Bill Blass, Michael Kors, Salvatore Ferragamo and Zac Posen. The special Super Saturday Accessories Salon will showcase accessories from numerous designers including Coach, Fendi, Hogan, Louis Vuitton, Prada and Thomas Pink.
In celebration of Super Saturday¡¦s tenth anniversary, OCRF has joined forces with leading multichannel retailer, QVC to provide nationwide access to this incredible event. On July 28th, QVC will broadcast live from Super Saturday, from 1:00PM - 3:00PM. At-home shoppers will be able to tune-in to QVC Presents Super Saturday Live to get a taste of the event and to score great deals from big names in designer clothing, accessories and beauty.
This year GMC will serve as the official automotive sponsor of Super Saturday 10 and in doing so, will provide the grand raffle prize of two 2008 GMC Acadia Crossovers - one for the winner and one for their chosen friend. Tickets will be $100 each and the retail value of the two Acadias will total $89,320. Additionally, GMC.com and The View's Elizabeth Hasselbeck will also provide at-home viewers with a "View From the Trunk," an inside look at Super Saturday.
And the fun doesn't end on Saturday! During the week following Super Saturday, online luxury retailer Bluefly.com will host the first official Super Saturday Aftersale. Shoppers will be able to log onto Bluefly.com to purchase "must-have" items that were featured at the event. All net proceeds will benefit OCRF.
In addition to the incredible shopping, Super Saturday 10 will offer attendees an afternoon packed with fun activities. Guests can try their hand at the Bluefly.com Arcade where instead of playing for animals and toys, they will be trawling for designer shoes, handbags and other fabulous accessories. Shoppers can stop by the Fortunoff and Stirrings Summer Lounge where they can relax and sip cocktails to revive their shopping spirits. Ladies will be able to pamper themselves with manicures by Essie Cosmetics and pedicures by Buff Spa in the Shick Intuition Plus Feet Treat tent.
Grown-ups aren't the only ones who have a great time at the event. Super Saturday's Day on the Farm and Kids Carnival will feature pony rides, games, arts and crafts and more. Kids can visit the Divalysscious Moms booth to enjoy face painting, tarot card readings and a performance by Broadway Babies. After some funky hair-styling and a make-over by Cozy Cut's for Kids, fashionistas-to-be can get a taste of the red carpet at the Bratz Movie Stars Photo Studio where kids will be able to dress up and be photographed by the Bratz Paparazzi. After the stress of the red carpet, little ones will be able to recuperate while decorating their own cupcakes at Crumbs Bakeshop and indulging in ice cream and treats at MaggieMoo's.
Super Saturday is underwritten by Donna Karan, who created the event ten summers ago with the late Liz Tilberis. Donna has underwritten the event since its founding in 1998. All proceeds raised at the event are donated to OCRF's research programs. Super Saturday 9 in 2006, also hosted by Kelly Ripa, raised over $2.4 million.
Ticket prices for Super Saturday 10 are $400 (regular) or $600 (preview) for adults, and $100 for kids ages 5-16 (kids under 5 are free). The preview ticket includes access to an exclusive shopping hour from 12:00PM - 1:00PM. Tables and sponsor packages are also available beginning at $2,500. To purchase tickets or for more information, please call London Misher Public Relations at 212.759.2800 or visit the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund website at www.ocrf.org.
