Memorial Day weekend in the Hamptons was super hot! The weather was beautiful and people were out taking advantage of the hundreds of events taking place. Saturday afternoon, I met with clothes designer
Hillary Flowers. She held a fashion show at Prime 103 in East Hampton Sunday night. I also made my way over to Nello's and the Publick House for more fun. The best party scene of the weekend definitely goes to Star Room! I went by the newly renovated club Sunday night to see
DJ Cassidy and
Fonzworth Bentley entertain the crowd and it was jumping!
Although we had a great time club hopping over the three day weekend, we should not forget the meaning of Memorial Day. It is a day of remembrance where we honor those who have given their lives in the armed services in order to protect our country. Memorial Day was first observed on May 30, 1868 when flowers were placed on the graves of Confederate and Union soldiers in Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia. It is now observed to honor American soldiers who have died in any war during our nation's history.

Saturday's gorgeous weather encouraged many people in the Hamptons to enjoy the day on the beach. It served as the perfect opportunity to rest up while lying in the sun preparing for the club scene later that evening. During the day I met up with
Hillary Flowers, a multi-talented diva from Wisconsin. Hillary moved to New York just 3 years ago and has blown up since. She is an actress, model, singer, song writer, dancer and clothes designer who's creativity is unlimited. Hillary has a fun and bubbly personality that resonates through her work. She showed me some of her hot dresses that would be modeled at Prime 103 Sunday night while we waited for photographers to arrive for a
Lu Berry swimwear photo shoot which she was a part of. Hillary was excited to be in the Hamptons and designed her clothes to appeal to any girl hanging out in the East End this summer. You can find Hillary's clothes in boutiques throughout Manhattan or online.
I stopped by the new Life's a Beach exhibition at Lana Santorelli Gallery in Southampton Saturday afternoon. On display are various artists' interpretation of life influenced by the beach and ocean in seaside towns. It was a very fitting collection of work given the location of the Hamptons and the opening weekend of the summer. The exhibit will run through June 11th.
After the art gallery I headed over to the Southampton Publick House for a quick bite to eat before heading out for the parties. I needed a good meal in order to sustain my energy and the Publick House is right around the corner from some of the hottest spots in Southampton. It is finally warm enough to eat outside. Just make sure to bring bug repellent. I finished up my fried shrimp and headed down the street to Madame Tong's Madame Tong's is one of my favorite places to hang out because you can either be inside or outside the restaurant and have loads of fun. There are places to sit everywhere and if it's a beautiful night you get to enjoy a bright moon and a few stars while sipping on your margarita and listening to music.
The party at Madame Tong's was great but it was time to head down to Nello's to dance. The place was super packed so I only stayed for a few songs before heading across the highway to Pink Elephant. There was a huge crowd in front of Pink Elephant but I was there to report on the night scene so I thought it wouldn't be a problem to get in. Wrong! I was treated super rude at the door and the bouncers treated the crowd like they were herding cattle. Some people waited outside for close to two hours and still didn't get in. Not a good start to the summer Pink Elephant. Better luck next weekend.

The party of the weekend award goes to Star Room! If you missed out on this star studded club don't worry, the place will be the spot to be all summer long! You can definitely party like a rock star here and everyone is treated like VIP. Not only was the party hot, the new designs by
Isabella Wolf also took the club to whole new level. I spoke to her about her inspirations and she mentioned that her time spent modeling in Paris and London played a huge role in her choice of fabrics and accessories. Many of the accessories are actually from Europe! How hot is that! In the Birch Room,
Fonzworth Bentley and
DJ Cassidy entertained the crowd with and jokes and the top 40 all night.
Heather Graham was also spotted among the crowd having a good time!
The summer is just getting started! It's June and that means the weather will get better every weekend in the Hamptons! Come out and enjoy Life @ Nite!
