East Hampton Rotary Make A Wish Program

At its Monday, November 9 dinner meeting, the East Hampton Rotary will welcome Make a Wish Foundation Suffolk County representative, Joanne McGiveron, Director of Community Relations, and a Make a Wish recipient seven years ago who will share his story. The mission of Make A Wish is to grant wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. When a volunteer team visits a child, they ask: “if you could have one wish, what would it be? I wish to go…I wish to meet…I wish to have..I wish to be. Referrals are received from the child, a child’s parent, legal guardian, friend of the family (with permission), medical professional or social worker.

East Hampton Rotary members, Paul D’Ascoli and his wife, Bernadette, are volunteers who give time to the Make A Wish program. The East Hampton Club meets on Monday evenings at the Bamboo Restaurant in East Hampton at 5:30 p.m. for a 6 p.m. dinner meeting. Rotary information is available at http://www.easthamptonrotary.us.
