South Fork Natural History Museum - Late Fall Bird Migration At Hither Hills

Walk Leader: Joe Giunta

Joe Giunta, expert birder and delightful walk leader, will take you on this excursion to Hither Hills State Park in Montauk, the perfect location to observe our songbirds during their late fall migration. The combination of ocean beach and field edges increases your opportunity to see late warblers and especially fall sparrows as they journey south. On previous walks at Hither Hills eight species of sparrows have been seen as well as a Dickcissel and Snow Bunting. The location also provides an opportunity to see Gannets and Ocean Ducks.

Reservations are required for all events. Call 631-537-9735 for reservations and information about meeting places.

There is no charge for SoFo members. Non-members are charged $7 per adult, $5 per child 12 through three years of age, two and under free. Fees include admission to the museum on the day of the program.
