While everyone - well at least some people - has been watching polo king Peter Brant tearing up the turf at Two Trees Farm each weekend, his wife supermodel Stephanie Seymour has not been letting any grass grow under her feet. The one time Victoria's Secret Angel will soon be gracing the pages of the top mags as the new body of ultra luxe French lingerie maker Chantelle. Top execs chose Stephanie who at 40 and after four children is still a classic beauty, elegant and sexy with a perfect body. You'd have to be in order to pose in their sensuous bras and panties. The multi million dollar campaign will start popping up in the big books in the coming weeks. Fabulous at forty, you go Steph!

Burlesque bombshell Dita Von Teese, last seen sultrily posed on a trapeze at Robert Wilson's Voom Zoo bash, will be the new covergirl for Frederick's of Hollywood naughty holiday lingerie collection called Pin-up Parade inspired by the vintage glamour of gals of the silver screen. Perfect for Dita, a screen siren if there ever was one, clearly born a half century too late.

Meanwhile our own local clothes horse Sarah Jessica Parker is rocking with her new clothing line Bitten and drawing mega crowds on her global push for the brand as she squeezes in every personal appearance she can before she hits the studio for the film version of Sex in the City. If she's smiling a little bit more then usual it's because she'll soon be reunited with Mr. Big! Yep, Chris Noth has signed on to re-create his role as Carrie's love interest in the upcoming film and fans will be thrilled to see him turning Carrie topsy turvy once again.

New kid in town John Varvatos is really pumping up his rebel rocker side with a very sexy new campaign for John Varvatos for Converse. A seductive model fully clad reclining in a bathtub is pictured reading "Who shot J.V.?" a delightful pull on the Dallas TV series of yesteryear.

Martha Stewart is reportedly now targeting the slightly older more sophisticated woman with a new magazine that would rival Town & Country. Susan Lyne, CEO of Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia isn't cracking on any details but when asked Martha gave a sly little smile and didn't deny the project.

Our neighbor Chuck Close, who was recently featured in miniature by artist Joe Fig in the Parrish's wildly successful Studio as Muse, will get the super size treatment when he's honored at the Whitney Museum of American Art Gala and Studio party on October 22. His large tapestries of contemporary artists will be on display that night in the over the top tributes for which the Whitney has become famed. Melva Bucksbaum and Amy Phelan are co-chairs and a number of the East End junior set including Amanda Hearts, Lisa Anastos, and Lauren Bush have signed on to host The downstairs Studio after party.

Haven't seen her yet, but have confirmation that diva Mariah Carey has rented Tommy Hilfiger's estate for the month of August for a little country R & R. Insiders say Tommy, who's spending the month in the Caribbean, got his full asking price - $350,000 - from the music goddess for the high-season rental. The oceanfront contemporary on exclusive Further Lane includes five bedrooms, 5 baths, a media room, an outdoor pavilion with a fireplace and an infinity-edge pool, and more than 150 feet of beachfront. Don't know if there is a recording studio but don't think it matters much to Mariah.

I think it's a real scream that last week party planners were desperately trying to get one famous couple in the same place while another group was trying to put miles between another tabloid headlining duo. I mean of course all the scrambling over the Clintons' who, because of Hillary's senatorial responsibilities, were not able to show their happy married smiles together at several parties. Then we had - Egad! - Sir Paul McCartney and Heather Mills on the East End at the same time. Spotted at different gyms a town apart, the battling pair was given a wide berth. Having them both on Long Island is proving a nightmare for hosts who couldn't possibly have them at the same event. The word in the special events circle in that Heather would be axed in a heartbeat for Sir Paul.

Not every politico headed to the world's largest ATM. Howard Dean skipped the Hamptons and instead made his sixth annual pilgrimage to Fire Island Pines last week. The head of the Democratic National Committee has been coming to the Pines since running for president. He most recently headlined a DNC fundraiser at philanthropist Brandon Fradd's bayside home. Word is Howard left the idyllic enclave with bulging pockets.

Kudos to our pal art dealer Pamela Willoughby who curated the amazing Sneaker del Arte show for Ellen's Run this weekend. When I ran into her this week, she was exhausted but exhilarated and told me that after 4 months of cajoling, stroking and begging some of the world's best known artists, she was thrilled with the end results. "The artists were fantastic. They took the all white shoes from Stephan Marbury's company and collaged, painted, sculpted you name it. The sneakers came out amazingly well", said Pamela who is hoping they'll command top dollar at the auction at Ellen and Chuck Scarborough's Southampton estate.

Seen Around the Villages

Fashion designer Steven Stolman, who popularized country club chic, was spied checking out of the Southampton Inn and literary lioness Joyce Carol Oates made the beautifully appointed Inn home during a recent stay on the East End.

It wasn't all big political fundraisers for a few campaigners: Bill Clinton took to The Atlantic Golf Club for a few rounds.

May-December couple, Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore was spotted buying her daughter Tallulah Belle Willis a pair of handmade leather lace-up boots at A Little of What You Fancy in East Hampton. New parents Maggie Gyllenhaal and Peter Skaarsgard shopped in Sag Harbor's surf shop. And no, they did not buy their newborn a surfboard

As always, the restaurant scene offered some pretty interesting celebrity ogling:

Joy Behar, co-host of The View, and guest dined at MUSE Restaurant & Aquatic Lounge. Friday night, Heather Mills was at the bar with another couple asking where to go afterwards.

Sam Champion had a quick dinner with his boyfriend Friday night at East Hampton Point. Betsey Johnson celebrated her birthday Thursday night at Matto with her family.

Cobb Salad is a big draw at Rowdy Hall - Jon Bon Jovi and wife Dorothea had it for lunch and Nathan Lane picked up one to go, Lest you think the Bon Jovi's are health nuts do know that they also chowed down big time at Townline BBQ as did Richard Gere and wife Carey Lowell.

Not everyone dines out for a great chef experience, some lucky East Enders have them come to their homes as Star Jones Reynolds and husband Al Reynolds and Holly Robinson Pete and hubby former NFL star Rodney Pete did this week. Chef Doug Guilija of The Plaza Café came to a private residence where the couples were staying to make their dinner personally.

Southampton keeping up in the celebrity sweeps had Stephanie Seymour, Chris Noth, Donny Deutsch, and Howard Stern with Beth Ostrosky dining at separate tables one night at Madam Tong's. Power attorney Sid Davidoff was caught munching pizza at 75 Main Street while waiting for Lane Brettschneider.

Celebrity Roll Call at Nick & Toni's this week. Drum roll, please! Keith Hernandez and wife, Gwyneth Paltrow with husband Chris Martin, Morris and Jaci Reid, Larry Brown (having drinks at the bar, does that count?), and Robert Benton.
