Sagaponack Eyes Innovative Zoning District To Promote Farming
In order to preserve farms such as the Clifford and Lee Foster’s Sagaponack acreage, the village would like to work in conjunction with the town to create an agricultural easement on farmland that would provide the landowner the option of selling the development rights of the property to the town while still farming the land.

For The Love Of Corn And Peaches, Sagaponack Rallies To Save Pike's Farm
Jim Pike looked worried as he worked the stand in the bright September sun, the fruits of his labor literally surrounding him. Meanwhile, working overtime at another location is Peconic Land Trust President John Halsey, shoring up a plan to buy the 7.6 acre parcel that stretches out behind the stand and secure its future. Pike’s Farm Stand remains as one of the last vestiges of actual farming in the community despite pressures to sell to builders for luxury housing.

Sagaponack 'Field Of Power' Comes Alive With Tractors, Bi-Planes And Engines That Could
The Foster Farm in Sagaponack, which raises potatoes, also raised awareness for 'engines of old', and time-honored farming techniques as a “Field of Power” event hosted by Cliff Foster was held on Saturday, Sept. 13 and Sunday, Sept. 14. Foster invited fellow tractor buffs to come and exhibit their prized grains, tractors and plows.
