Southampton - Monkey Bed recently introduced the Urban Blanket Bag Collection at New York International Gift Fair. These partially recycled ballistic nylon full messenger bags come complete with premium four person zip-out blankets zipped sleekly inside, and other innovative park and beach inspired features. The blankets can be removed entirely leaving a big messenger bag, or they can remain zipped-in and still have room for lots more in the bag such as picnic/beach or work supplies.
The Urban Blanket Bag collection includes the fully featured Esplanade, the slim-lined Riverside, and the compact Seashore. At three different price points and a variety of colors, there's a blanket bag to suit most tastes. All three styles feature the same 58" x 68" plush fleece blanket with water-resistant bottom and hidden pockets for security. Bags will be shipping to retail this spring and also available online at themonkeybed.com this summer.
"We like to think of ourselves as urban escape artists." said founder and CEO, Simeon Margolis. "I've spent most of my life in big cities, but my favorite time of any day is when I get to be outside."
Monkey Bed is committed to using recycled materials as well as using profits in a responsible manner that benefits their entire community. Still, it's the company's stated mission to help people connect with their inner monkeys that inspires products like the Urban Blanket Bag collection.
Monkey Bed™ was founded in Newton, MA in 2009 by Simeon Margolis. After a career in entertainment and new media, Simeon took the plunge into his long time passion for innovative products. Monkey Bed's focus on customer service and engaging community stems from our roots in social media but also helps us commit to using green operating policies and directly benefiting our value chain contributors.
At Monkey Bed, our roots may be in big cities like New York, Boston and Chicago, but that doesn't mean we don't love our outdoor time just as much as the weekend trail hunter. In fact, us active urbanites need to find better, faster, and more stylish ways to fit it all in. It's no wonder our first product bears the name, the Urban Blanket Bag.
Monkey Bed is available at Mustique in Westhampton Beach, or for more information go to

So what the heck is a Monkey Bed? It's a place you can discover again what makes you, you. A place to be a kid, or to be all grown up if that's what you prefer. In short, we hope Monkey Bed products help you connect with your inner monkey. Because c'mon, we're all just monkeys jumping on the bed!
