If your solution to frosty winter days is curling up with an irresistible page-turner, don’t miss the “Hamptons Bedside Reading Weekend.” Taking place Friday, March 1 through Sunday, March 3, several Hamptons-based inns will serve as the host to five exciting book signing soirees.
“We created this weekend to bring people out to the Hamptons’ during the winter season and create something different for locals to do,” Baker House 1650 General Manager Heather McCormack explained. “We’re working with many local businesses on this event and all have been very eager to participate.”
The weekend will celebrate Why We Lie author Amy Impellizzeri, The Secret of Southern Charm author Kristy Woodson Harvey, The Optimist’s Guide to Letting Go author Amy Reichert, The Fifth of July author Kelly Simmons, and What Happened That Night author Sandra Block.
“We’ve had a relationship with Bedside Reading for years and our guests always love receiving their bag of books, so we thought this was a nice way to try and grow that relationship and share the love of books!” McCormack noted.
The weekend will kick off with a Friday “Meet & Mingle” cocktail welcome and book signing with Why We Lie author Amy Impellizzeri at Topping Rose in Bridgehampton from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday starts with a “Time for Tea” Plain T tea tasting and book signing at White Fences Inn in Water Mill from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Secret of Southern Charm author Kristy Woodson Harvey will take part in the Saturday morning book signing. Then, head to The 1770 House in East Hampton from 2 to 4 p.m. where author Amy Reichert will be signing The Optimist’s Guide to Letting Go. The day will wrap up at The Baker House 1650 in East Hampton with a “Pop the Cork” champagne cocktail party from 5 to 7 p.m. The evening will celebrate The Fifth of July author Kelly Simmons. The final event of the weekend will take place at The Maidstone Hotel in East Hampton on Sunday. The farewell book signing with light refreshments, featuring What Happened That Night author Sandra Block, will take place from 12 to 2 p.m.
“We hope that this can turn into an annual event and maybe even branch out to other artists,” McCormack added
Tickets to the “Hamptons Bedside Reading Weekend” are $100 per person and include entry to all five book events and a book at each event. There are also special package rates available at participating inns.
