“Those who love art tend to also love books, and we are pleased to wed these two interests with a series of May book signings,” said Andrea Grover, Century Arts Foundation Curator of Special Projects at the Parrish. “These three new titles— reflections on art, wine, and childhood— by Dan Rizzie, Eileen Duffy and Lindsay Morris, respectively, demonstrate the range of talented individuals who make their homes on the East End.”
May at the Parrish Art Museum will feature conversations and book signings with an artist, a photographer, and an author, all of whom are based on the East End.
The series will kickoff on Sunday, May 3rd at 11 a.m., with Permanent Collection artist Dan Rizzie, who will discuss his career-first monograph, “Dan Rizzie,” with Parrish Director Terrie Sultan. A book signing will follow. The discussions continue on Saturday, May 9th at 2 p.m., with author Eileen Duffy, who will speak about “Behind the Bottle: The Rise of Wine on Long Island,” which takes a look at the development of the East End as a wine region. The final lecture is on Sunday, May 17th at 11 a.m., with photographer Lindsay Morris, who will discuss her book project, “You are You,” based on a camp for gender non-conforming children and their families. All three works can be reserved in advance on the Parrish’s website and purchased in the Museum shop.
Admission to the series is $10 per conservation, and free for Members, children, and students.
