Our Fabulous Variety Show (OFVS) is putting on Yasmina Reza’s Art, a highly entertaining play that focuses on the significance of art and friendship, as OFVS’s 23rd production. The show stars equity actors Edward Kassar, Joe Pallister and Sawyer Spielberg.
“I absolutely loved this play from the moment I read it and Joe, Eddie and Sawyer are the exact right cast,” Anita Boyer, OFVS co-director, co-producer, and co-founder, noted. “Their chemistry onstage is captivating and their comedic timing is impeccable. I adore watching them bring these characters to life!”
Art can be seen at Guild Hall in East Hampton from Thursday, April 25 through Sunday, May 5.
“Art digs into the fabric of relationships and the meaning of art,” Kasia Klimiuk, OFVS co-director, co-producer, and co-founder, said. “What and who makes us tick and what and who makes us who we are.”
Directed by Jenna Mate, the play comically explores themes such as evolving relationship dynamics, how we identify ourselves, and our functions in life.
“We are very excited to bring this play to our community with a stellar cast, creative crew and production team,” added Klimiuk.
Klimiuk and Boyer’s favorite line from the production revolves around Art‘s overall theme: “If I’m who I am because I’m who I am and you’re who you are because you’re who you are, then I’m who I am and you’re who you are. If, on the other hand, I’m who I am because you’re who you are and if you’re who you are because I’m who I am, then I’m not who I am and you’re not who you are.”
Sebastian Paczynski will provide the lighting design, while Anita Boyer and Kasia Klimiuk will produce.
Tickets are $28 in advance and $35 at the door. Shows will be held Wednesdays through Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m.
