Thursday, January 12th marks an exciting date for the theatre community in the Hamptons! From Thursday, January 12th to Sunday, January 29th, Hampton Theatre Company (HTC) will present Amy Herzog's 4,000 Miles, the second play of HTC's 2016-2017 season, at the Quogue Community Hall.

4,000 Miles follows the relationship between an old-world grandmother and her contemporary, modernized grandson as they live together for the grandson's extended stay in his grandmother's Greenwich Village apartment. The cast of four includes three long-serving Hampton Theatre Company actors and one newbie. Diana Marbury, Ben Schnickel, Amanda Griemsmann and Samantha Herrera take the stage in a "gentle, warm drama... touching, compassionate and authentically felt."

The play premiered Off-Broadway for three weeks at the Duke Theater in June 2011 and for another three months in March 2012 at the Mitzi E. Newhouse at Lincoln Center. The comic drama received the Obie Award for Best New American Play and was a finalist for the 2013 Pulitzer Prize.

"Herzog unravels the details slowly, with uncommon narrative skill," noted a reviewer for Time. "Everything about 4000 Miles seems fresh, particularized, plausible."

"If your heart is sick or just needs warming, go and see this play," John Shand of the Sydney Morning Herald wrote about the Australian adaptation. "If you are a baby boomer who doesn't understand your grandchildren or are from Gen Y and, like, really weirded out by your grandparents, go and see this play. If you simply love theatre, go and see this play."

4,000 Miles can be seen on Thursdays and Fridays at 7 p.m., Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2:30 p.m. On Saturday, January 28th, there will be an additional 2:30 p.m. matinee preceding the regular 8 p.m. performance. Tickets range from $10 to $30.

Additionally, Hampton Theatre Company will offer special dinner and theater packages in collaboration with the Westhampton, Southampton, Hampton Bays and Quogue libraries.

Quogue Community Hall is located at 125 Jessup Avenue in Quogue. For more information, call 1-866-811-4111 or visit hamptontheatre.org.
