Purpled Pheasant Productions is coming to Southampton this summer with the brilliant comedy, The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged).
The show, which has received rave reviews after an impressive 9-year run on London's West End, will take the stage at the Southampton Cultural Center
in Southampton, Thursdays through Saturdays from Thursday, July 14th through Sunday, July 31st.
The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged),
which has been described as an "uproarious slapstick romp," lovingly parodies the words
of Shakespeare. It is a wild and fun homage to William Shakespeare's canon that is "laden with physical comedy, fast-and-furious entrances and exits and hot costume changes." It follows three misinformed actors as they hilariously try to stage all 37 of Shakespeare's plays in an abridged version. The company, who is brand new, will bring their inaugural performance to the Southampton Cultural Center, full of Equity talent and Broadway-caliber production.
"Even though Shakespeare is in the title, this slapstick comedy is a silly, fun, lighthearted romp through the Bard's better-known works," explained co-producer and actor Ian Harkins. "It's a good time for audience and actors alike."
