This summer, the Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center will present Camp Broadway, for children ages ten through seventeen, from Monday, July 18th through Friday, July 22nd. Students interested in theatre will have the experience of a lifetime at this week-long “Broadway Boot Camp.” Theater professionals will be at the camp to teach and motivate these future stars, preparing workshops and exercises all week long.
“Camp Broadway has become a staple of our Arts Academy summer season – it’s a fabulous opportunity for kids to learn from the people who know Broadway inside out, and to experience the magic of Broadway firsthand when we head into the City on Wednesday,” shared Julienne Penza-Boone, Director of the Arts Academy. “We’re so proud to be the exclusive Long Island presenter of this unparalleled program.”
On Wednesday, July 20th, children will have the opportunity to explore New York City. They will receive a ticket to award winning musical Shuffle Along, starring Audra McDonald, Brian Stokes Mitchell, and choreography by Savion Glover. A Question & Answer session with the cast will follow the performance.
To conclude the camp, the children will perform their own version of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.
The camp will run from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. from Monday, July 18th to Friday, July 22nd. Tuition is $750.
