Noel Coward's "Hay Fever" is set to debut on Thursday, May 21st at the Quogue Community Hall. Coward was an English playwright, composer, director, actor and singer. He wrote "Hay Fever," which opened in London in 1925, in just three days after spending a mere day in the home of actress Laurent Taylor, whose "over-the-top theatrical lifestyle" was his inspiration.

The play centers around four members of the Bliss family, who have all invited a house guest to their home in Cookham, England, for the weekend. The comedy embodies the horrors of a bad and awkward weekend stay at a friend's place.

This is Hampton Theatre Company's fourth and final play of their 30th anniversary season. Veteran Hampton Theatre Company member Diana Marbury will direct and act in the production.

"It is wonderfully appropriate that our 30th anniversary season is ending on a note of high comedy featuring three actors who were with the company in our first two seasons—Rosemary Cline, Andrew Botsford, and Diana Marbury—and another actor, Matt Conlon, whose involvement with the HTC dates back to the early 1990s," said Sarah Hunnewell, Hampton Theatre Company's Executive Director. Rosemary Cline, who plays the character Jidith Bliss, a retired stage actress who now finds her country lifestyle dull, has appeared in more than 30 of the company's productions.

"Hay Fever" will run through Sunday, June 7th. Showtimes are Thursdays and Fridays at 7 p.m., Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $25 for adults, $23 for senior citizens and $10 for students under 21, no children under the age of 5 will be admitted.

Quogue Community Hall is located at 125 Jessup Avenue in Quogue. For more information, visit hamptontheatre.org.

Hampton Luxury Liner
Hampton Luxury Liner was started in 2000 as a more luxurious way to travel from NYC to the Hamptons and back. The clientele quickly grew and over the years Hampton Luxury liner became the preferred method of transportation to the Hamptons and NYC for many living in NYC and the Hamptons that wanted a comfortable and affordable way to travel back and forth. In 2009, HLL was taken over by Classic Coach and things with the liner didn’t change to much for years and the owner there changed the buses to Prevost as opposed to Mercedes Setra Top Class Coaches that have always been a signature of the liner.
